The session will discuss more on the impacts of mis-information or fake news in at least 6 different Pacific island countries. The arrival of the covid 19 pandemic has prompted the increase in mis-information and has highly impacted the islands governments in their response to the disease. Other ongoing elements of mis-information also exist in these island nations due to the low percentages of literacy. The session will discuss the following; 1. Definition of Mis-information 2. Impacts of mis-information - presentations or from 5 island nation perspectives 3. Mitigation approaches from each presenter 4. Open for discussions from the community. |
