Session Format
Panel Discussion

Onsite at the venue (with online moderator for questions and comments from remote participants)
Specific Issues for Discussion
This idea of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with this enormous technological advancements. Security on the cloud reduces operational overhead and automates manual processes and security policies. The focus is on simplicity, scalability, visibility, efficiency, and interoperability. It might sound simplistic, but cloud security and compliance include everything a security team is responsible for today, just in the cloud. All the traditional security domains remain, but the nature of risks, roles and responsibilities, and implementation of controls change, often dramatically. In the following session, the speaker and the contributor will talk about the future aspects of cloud services and their security Scope, Responsibilities, and Models. What does the provider do? What does the consumer need to do? Does the cloud provider enable the consumer to do what they need to? What is guaranteed in the contract and service level agreements, and what is implied by the documentation and specifics of the technology?
The panel will introduce international intermediary liability principles and explore the challenges of their implementation in the Asia Pacific, ending with concrete recommendations.
Describe the Relevance of Your Session to APrIGF
The panel addresses all APrIGF thematic inclusion, sustainability, and trust tracks. Though the overall scope of security and compliance doesn't change, the pieces any given cloud actor is responsible for most certainly do. This way, cloud computing is a shared technology model where different organisations are frequently accountable for implementing and managing other parts of the stack. As a result, security responsibilities are also distributed across the stack and thus across the organisations involved. This is commonly referred to as the shared responsibility model. Think of it as a responsibility matrix that depends on the particular cloud provider and feature/product, service, and deployment models. At a high level, security responsibility maps to the degree of control any given actor has over the architecture stack: Expanding awareness about the cloud solution model and its security, model and the dimension of future sustainable growth for the globe. The Asia Pacific will directly relate to APrIGF’s goals of promoting internet governance grounded in international norms.
